William W. "Bill" Vickroy Jr., age 69, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born February 22, 1952, in Lancaster, the son of the late William W. and Viola M. (Smith) Vickroy Sr. Bill was a graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School, class of 1970 and then served in the Ohio Army National Guard. He was retired from the Fairfield County Road Department with 30 years of service. Bill was a devoted Christian and attended Sugar Grove United Methodist Church regularly. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting and he was a knowledgeable historian.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Jamie S. (Grubb) Vickroy; children whom he loved dearly, Katie and Clayton Vickroy, both of Lancaster, Amanda, Josi and Jimmy Vickroy, all of the home; brother, Jim (Janis) Vickroy, of Lancaster; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A public graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2021, at Amanda Township Cemetery, with Pastor Tony Hudson officiating. Arrangements are in care of Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda.
