William "Bill" Keith Pool, 69, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024, surrounded by his family at The Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio. He fought his battle with Parkinson's disease and other health issues bravely.
William was born on October 17, 1954, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Walter and Florence Evelyn (Wynkoop) Pool.
William graduated from Fairfield Union High School in 1973 and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio University in 1977. He worked as an engineer at Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation for five years and then as the plant engineer and maintenance manager at Cyril-Scott Company for twenty-six years. After this, William worked as a realtor for Gorsuch Realty, achieving the Bronze Award. He was also the zoning inspector for Greenfield Township for several years.
William is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jane (Beavers) Pool. They were married on June 28, 1980 in Amanda, Ohio. He is also survived by two daughters, Heather Pool of Lancaster, and Amber (Gary) Hennis, of Canal Winchester; two grandchildren, Isaac and Abigail Hennis; two brothers, Edward (Martha) Pool of Lancaster, and Michael (Ruth) Pool of Streetsboro, Ohio; one sister-in-law Linda (Tom) Krile; one brother-in-law Harold Beavers, Jr.; five nieces, Katie and Carlie Krile, Mary and Amy Pool, Laura (Mike) Batterton; one nephew, Nathan (Caley) Pool; great-niece and great-nephew Becca and Benjamin Batterton; two step-nieces; one step-nephew; step-great-nieces and step-great-nephews; and cousins.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his grandparents; nephew Darrell Pool; in-laws Harold and Georgie Beavers; and sister-in-law, Daphne Beavers.
William was a member of the Sixth Avenue Global Methodist Church. He was previously a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. William was a member of the Bremen Masonic Lodge #608 since 2002 and an Honorary Member of the Amanda Masonic Lodge #509 since 2008. He was the Worshipful Master of the Bremen Masonic Lodge in 2007 and 2009, President of the 13th Masonic District Association in 2010, and the 13th Masonic District Education Officer from 2013-2015. William was also a member of the Aladdin Shrine, Scottish Rite, and York Rite.
William was a talented woodworker, making everything from jewelry boxes to furniture. He tackled many home remodeling projects, including a garage, deck, kitchens, bathrooms, and flooring. William also enjoyed family activities, old cars/sports cars, and gardening.
The service for William will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Taylor-Theller Funeral Home in Amanda, Ohio, with Pastor Gerald Mershimer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Maple Hill Cemetery in Stoutsville, Ohio. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

The family would also like to thank the staff at The Pickering House for the excellent care that William received during his stay.
