Thomas L. Thornton

Thomas L. Thornton, age 72, of Amanda, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Country Lane Gardens in Pleasantville. He was born February 18, 1950, in Columbus, the son of the late Oma and Alyce (Rostorfer) Thornton. Tom was a volunteer firefighter at Violet Township and Amanda Township. He was a member of the Amanda Masonic Lodge, F. & A.M. #509 as well as the Clearcreek Valley Grange #1843.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Shirley (Hedrick) Thornton; daughter, Sarah Bryant, of Columbus; son, Christopher "Walt" (Amalie) Thornton, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Tessa Thornton, Farrah, Caleb, and Lana Prince; sister, Nancy (Darryl) Conkle, of Canal Winchester; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2022, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home with Rev. David Hedrick officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where Masonic and Grange services will be held starting at 7:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
