Ralph G. Bay, 92, of Lancaster passed away at the Pickering House
on June 6, 2024. He was the 13th child of the late Eugene and Gertrude Bay,
born on May 21,1932.
Ralph was a 1950 graduate of Berne Union High School. He attended Ohio
University until he was drafted in the Army and was stationed in lzmir,
Turkey from 1952-1954. He worked for Farmers and Citizens,
Central Trust and Standing Stone from 1963-1980 and then continued part
time with Standing Stone for almost 30 years. One of his favorite
things to do was working the Fairfield County Fair for Standing Stone for
almost 30 years so he could catch up with friends. He was in the church
choir, a director and soloist for over 50 years and sang in over 200 weddings.
He attended Sixth Avenue Global Methodist Church until he was no longer able
to drive.
Ralph had eight sisters and four brothers who preceded him in death. He
was loved and will be missed by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and
nephews and many other relatives and friends. He leaves behind his
best friend, Paul Kull, his card pals Dave and Linda Rowles and Eric Nemetz,
his handyman Dick White and niece, Patty, and his (chef) niece,
Linda Brown and husband Larry. Ralph also leaves behind his caregivers
(nieces), Ramona Cottrill, Lavada Moorman, Yvonne VanCuren and great niece,
Lydia Moorman, and special friend Diane Weist and family of Chicago. He
would like to thank his wonderful, caring neighbors Lori Jones and Kathy
Morman for watching out for him for years.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda where a service officiated by Pastor Brian Dillahunt will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow at Stukey Cemetery, Sugar Grove.
