Phillip A. Gullatta, age 80 of Circleville, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Brookdale Pinnacle in Grove City. He was born in Cleveland on December 7, 1942, the son of the late Tony and Lilly (Messina) Gullatta Sr. He was a longtime member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Sunbury and most recently attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Circleville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #14457. For many years, he, his wife, and son owned and operated Mr. Meatball Italian Foods.
He is survived by his son, Donald Gullatta of Heath and daughter, Lori (Mark) Hamann of Circleville; brothers, Tony (Marjorie), Marty (Sandra), and Tim (Rose) Gullatta; sisters-in-law, Regina and Michelle; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; and brother, Sam Gullatta.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 East SR 37, Sunbury, OH 43074 with Fr. Daniel Dury, Celebrant. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center. The family will receive family and friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church on Tuesday.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Brookdale and Vitas Hospice that assisted with the care during the final months of Phil's life. Additionally, the family request memorial contributions to the Knights of Columbus, 9633 East SR 37, Sunbury, OH 43074 or the Pickaway Senior Center, 2105 Chickasaw Dr., Circleville, OH 43113 in Phil's memory.
