Rev. Orville Berry

Rev. Orville L. Berry, age 86, originally of Amanda, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023. He was the son of the late Edgar and Jennie (Cordle) Berry. Orville married Janie M. Berry in 1957. Working in construction for all of his adult life, Orville worked for Porter Drywall for over 26 years. He was a member of Salt Creek Church in Laurelville and a former pastor of Millport Chapel Community Church. Known for having the spirit of the Lord, he could be found at revivals and preaching wherever he could.

He is survived by his children, Rhonda Williams, of Ashville, Dwain (Teresa) Berry, of Tarlton, Cathy Lyn (Michael) Jewell, of Grove City; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janie Berry; and his brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda with Pastor Jim Vandagriff officiating. Interment will follow at Tarlton Cemetery, Tarlton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
