Ollie M. Riegel, 91, of Amanda, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born on August 3, 1927 in Ross County and was the daughter of William and Golda (Martin) Wisehart. Ollie was a 1945 graduate of Walnut Twp. High School and attended Grant Hospital School of Nursing for two years before meeting the love of her life, Paul Riegel. They were married 65 years, and she ran the business side of Pride-N-Joy Farms. She was a member of Cedar Hill Calvary United Methodist Church, Amanda Lions Club and Farm Bureau Council #33. She was a co-founder of the Montessori School in Lancaster and worked for the Amanda Twp. voting board for over 25 years. She formerly worked at the Federal Land Bank and Elder Beerman.
She is survived by two sons, Dean (Debbie) Riegel of Summerville, South Carolina and Jeff Riegel of Amanda, Ohio; three daughters, Sandy (Jon) Hackworth of Oldsmar, Florida, Lisa Fisher of Lancaster, Ohio and Laurie Riegel of Hilliard, Ohio; grandchildren, Clay (Gail) Riegel, Sarah (Tony) Cruz, Jack Fisher, David and Patrick Hackworth, Christopher and Holly Riegel; great grandchildren, Joseph and Amanda Riegel, Cadence, Teagan and Jadelyn Cruz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Riegel; adopted parents, William and Pearl (Keller) Helvering and a half brother, Joe Payne.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Hill Calvary United Methodist Church, 10485 Westfall Rd., Amanda, Ohio 43102 with Rev. David Sayre officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda, Ohio 43102
