Joe Herron

Joe Herron, age 68 of Stoutsville, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at his residence. He was born March 26, 1954, in Findlay, Ohio, the son of the late George and June (Sanks) Herron. Joe was retired from the Kroger Co. with over 30 years of service in Loss Prevention. He loved the Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed attending the opening day game annually and attending the dog races at Wheeling Island. In his younger days, he was an avid softball player and actually coached the Kroger softball team. He coached several teams into the State championships. He also worked for many years at the Amanda Roller Rink as a floor guard.

He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Brenda (Delong) Herron; children, Joey (Becky) Herron, of Circleville, Nikki Herron, of Circleville, Chris (fiancée Dawn Harrop) Gordon, of Grove City, Lisa (Stephen) Hughes, of Pace, FL, and Jimmie (Lynne) Gordon, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Marissa, Trevor, Vincent, Kyler, Christian, Cameryn, Leah, Jamie, Jadyn, and Jameson; great grandson, Silas; several nieces and nephews; cousin, Randy Mansell, of Amanda. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jason Scott Herron; brothers, George "Jr" Herron Jr. and Willie Herron.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023, with Pastor Randy Perkins officiating at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda. Cremation will follow the service. Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
