Norma Sanders

Norma J. Sanders, age 91 of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, at her home. She was born May 25, 1932, in Lancaster, the daughter of the late William and Bertha (Smith) Childers. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School, class of 1952. After graduation, she worked for Diamond Power prior to meeting and marrying her husband, Scott. She and Scott were married in their minister's home and they enjoyed 57 years together. Together, they owned and operated Sanders Furniture in Lancaster for over 40 years. Norma had an eye for decorating which served them well in their business. She was excellent with numbers and very well organized, which carried over into her bookkeeping role in the furniture store. Norma loved her family and friends and above all else, often commented that her greatest contribution to this world were her daughters.

She is survived by her daughters, Risë (Greg) Pfouts, of Palm Coast, FL, and Kim Sparrow, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Katie, Kellie, and Davis (Brianna) Pfouts; great grandchildren, Audrey and Jackson Pfouts; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Lynne Theller-Kitchen. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Scott; sister, Helen Schooley; brothers, Ronald, James, Jerald, and William Childers.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home with Pastor Ann Moody officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster.
