Nick Reed

Nick Reed, age 81 of Columbus, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born July 12, 1941, in Millersport, the son of the late Gale and Dora (Harding) Reed. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School, class of 1959. He worked for the North American Broadcast Company for 57 years. Nick considered his colleagues from the North American Broadcast Company to be his second family. He was a private man who enjoyed reading, music, t.v. news, and "Jeopardy". He also enjoyed his trips to Virginia and North Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Timothy Crook; and cousin, Ted Reed. He is survived by his brother, Don Reed, of London, OH; sister, Sharon (Bill) Miller, of Lancaster; nephew, Todd (Connie) Crook, of Lancaster, and their children, Jennifer (Mike) Van Horn and Ron Crook; great nephew, Kyric; great nieces, Madi, Evie, and Lissy; longtime friend, Jim Williams and his family, of Virginia; cousins, Maureen Reed, of Kentucky, and Diana (Randy) Swain, of Lancaster.

Cremation has been arranged in the care of Taylor-Theller Funeral & Cremation Service. A private inurnment will be held at Amanda Township Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Friends may make memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to the charity of their choice.
