O. Marlene Hyme, 77, of Amanda, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Fairfield Medical Center. Marlene was born August 13, 1936 in Fayette Co., Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Delbert B. and Mary G. (Teets) Spaw. She was a former teacher's aide at Amanda Clearcreek Elementary and supportive services coordinator for Meals on Wheels. Marlene was a former member of the Lancaster Community Church.
She is survived by a son, Carl E. "Cork" (Becky) Hyme of Lancaster; daughters, Danita (Barron) Cornell of Lancaster, Diana Hyme of Amanda, Darla (Brian) Carpenter of Lancaster, Doris (Ronnie) McCall of Circleville and Corinna (Chuck) Kunkel of Clarksburg; sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; brother, Roy E. (Leota) Spaw of Mentor, Ohio; sisters, Erma VanSickle and Mary Margaret (Bert) Lowry both of Farmington, PA; brother-in-law, Marlin Lawson of Friendsville, MD and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hyme; grandchildren, Annabelle Joy Hyme and Dakota Underwood; sister, Lena Lawson and brother-in-law, Ralph VanSickle.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. Burial will be in Amanda Twp. Cemetery with Pastor Ron Grubb officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
