Joan E. Ruble, 79, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Pickering House in Lancaster with her family by her side. She was born July 26, 1934 in Marion and was the daughter of the late Harold Carl and Clara Martha (Mayers) Rengert. She graduated 3rd in her class in 1952 from Pleasant High School in Marion, member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lancaster since 1996. As a past member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, she was active on various committees and the quilting group and was a member of Muirwood Lunch Bunch.
She is survived by her children, Koral Kay (Brian) Alexander of Columbus, Rob (Tammy) Adams of Lancaster and Lori (Mike) Conrad of Amanda; stepchildren, Ed (Gail) Ruble and Joni (Jeff) Frazier both of Lancaster and Traci Ruble and friend, John Frayley of Fredericktown; grandsons, Chase Alexander, Christopher Conrad and Josh Adams; granddaughter, Macy Adams; step granddaughters, Jessica and Aubree Bretzinger and Jenna Ruble; step grandsons, Aaron Bretzinger and Eric Ruble; one step great granddaughter, McKenna Ventresca and special friend, David Worthington of Lancaster. She was a former wife of Duane Adams of Cleveland and Robert E. Ruble of Lancaster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nikki Adams.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Pastor Roger Quay officiating. A grave side service will follow in Waldo Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers the family would like contributions be made to the Pickering House in Joan's memory.
