Mr. Robert Eugene Althaus

Robert E. Althaus, 66, of Amanda, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 21, 1946 in Amanda and was the son of Eugene and Mary (Gordon) Althaus. Bob was a 1965 graduate of Fairfield Union High School, an Army National Guard veteran who served during the Viet Nam era, lifelong farmer in Fairfield County and retired from Ohio Paper Board in Baltimore.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ellen (Tipple) Althaus; son, Michael Althaus of North Lewisburg and daughter, Anita Crist of Lancaster; grandchildren, Nicholas (Bethany) Adkins, Brandon Mason, Tabitha Althaus, Katlin Rea and Austin Crist; mother, Mary Althaus of Lancaster; sisters, Roberta (Robert) George and Kay (Larry) Marr both of Lancaster and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Althaus.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery where military honors will be provided by AMVETS Post #2256, Circleville. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
