Corey B. Estell, 32, of Amanda, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010. He was born Feb. 15, 1978 in Lancaster and was the son of Brent and Shirlee (Hastings) Estell who survive. He was a 1996 graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School. Attended Miami University (Ohio), Wilmington College and Edge Hill University in England. Corey loved football and wrestling throughout high school and college. He was a 1996 state heavyweight champion for Ohio. He played football for Miami University and wrestled and played football at Wilmington. While attending Edge Hill University Corey played rugby. Corey loved his Amanda Clearcreek Aces Football team.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Tiffany (Stanley) Brigner of Cincinnati and Michelle (Tyler) Smith of Corvallis, Oregon; brother, Brett Estell of Cincinnati; four nephews and three nieces; uncles, Darrell Estell and Patrick (Melba) Hastings both of Amanda. He is also survived by numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by paernal grandparents Dano and Mary Estell; maternal grandmother, Clara Johnston; maternal grandfather, Joseph Knittel and aunt, Mary Ellen Estell.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at the New Hope Assembly of God, 2020 Cincinnati-Zanesville Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Pastor John Dawson officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
