Boyd A. "Rudy" Marshall, 79, of Stoutsville, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Pickaway Manor. He was born March 3, 1934 in Stoutsville and was the son of the late Amos and Alma (Wolfe) Marshall. Rudy was a 1952 graduate of Stoutsville High School and a retired machinist for GE in Circleville after 36 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean conflict on the USS Hornet. Rudy was a member of the OHSAA and was an official for basketball, baseball, softball, football and track for over 25 years. He coached junior high girls basketball for 12 years and was junior high athletic director for 8 years. He has coached girls high school softball and boys high school baseball all for Amanda Clearcreek.
Hi is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia "Ginny" (Wright) Marshall; children, Elizabeth (Rod) Miller of Amanda, Pam Morrison of Delaware, Mark (Denise) Marshall and David (Mylia) Marshall both of Stoutsville; grandchildren, Sabrina (Lance) Poling, Alicia (Steven) Manalac, Beth (Matt) Johnson, Amy (Ben) Dusthimer, Matthew (Brooke) Marshall, Justin Morrison and Jayson Marshall; thirteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brian and Michael Marshall and three brothers, Max, Amos and Richard Marshall.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Rev. Richard Martin Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Stoutsville where military honors will be provided by Amvets Post #2256, Circleville. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
