Mary A. Dellenbach, age 79 of Columbus, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was born May 30, 1942, in London, daughter of the late Virgil G. and Ruth V. (Howell) Wears. She loved to play Bingo, loved to bowl, loved to cook and loved to garden. Although a great cook, her potato salad was world famous. Mary was a mother to more people than just her children; she was the neighborhood mom who always made sure all the kids were fed.
She is survived by her children, Cindy (Bill) Shanahorn, of Oregon, Ohio, Albert Guy (Patty) Dellenbach, of Reynoldsburg, Harold (Amy) Dellenbach, of Lewis Center, and Kenny (Becky) Dellenbach, of Amanda; numerous grand and great grandchildren, including Brandon Estep who provided much of her care over the past several years; sister, Lorina (Bob) Wilcox, of Springboro; brothers, Edward Wears, of Arkansas, and Walt Wears, of California; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Dellenbach Sr.; daughter, Crystal Dellenbach; several brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Frontline Church of God, 5195 Amanda Northern Rd., Amanda with Pastor Chris Hildenbrand officiating. Interment will follow at the Arlington Field of Honor, Canal Winchester. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the church.
