Mike Smith

Lewis "Mike" Smith, age 68, passed away peacefully at Fairfield Medical Center on Friday, November 17, 2023, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He worked at the paper mill in Baltimore for 44 years. Mike enjoyed camping, fishing, refinishing old cars, watching westerns on TV, and riding their motorcycle. He savored a good vegetable soup and stuffed peppers. He loved being a fur daddy to Sammy...but he especially loved being a grandpa.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sondra (Williams) Smith; his 95 year old mother, Marjorie Loomis Smith; step-children, Diana (Mark) Garrett, Donnie (Brenda) Carter, and Tonya (Chad Tipple) Leasure, all of Ohio, Rich (Krista) Carter, and Threasa Mernedakis, both of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; brothers and sisters, Debbie (Wayne) Fussnecker, of Alabama, and Diane Apelu, Steve Smith, Richard (Lori) Smith, Terry (Terri) Smith, Lisa Smith and Todd Smith, all of Ohio. Many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his dad, Lewis Smith.

At his request, there will be no formal services observed. Cremation has been arranged in the care of Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda.
