Leona Mae Bale, 91, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Arbors at Carroll. She was born May 18, 1924 in Columbus and was the daughter of the late Starling and Betty (Baker) Urton. She was a graduate of Marysville High School and an elevator operator for Morehouse Fashion and then the Union Store in Columbus. Leona was also a past member of the United Methodist Church.
Leona was a devoted and much loved wife, mother and grandmother and leaves behind to cherish her memory by her husband of 69 years, Weyland F. Bale; daughters, Deborah Roark, Karen Muck and Pamela Christensen. She is also survived by grandchildren, Bryan (Laura) Muck, Amber (Kenny) Helwig, Kara (Chris) Murphy, Neil Link, James (Danielle) Jewell and Abbey Jewell; great grandchildren, Taylor, Cain, Brenton and Olivia Muck, Kenadi and Madison Williams, Brayden and Camden Helwig, Serenity Murphy, Josie and Colin Jewell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Jewell Cunningham; grandson, Scotty Muck and sons-in-law Paul Muck and Tim Roark.
A grave side service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster.
