Joyce Wampler

Joyce A. (Young) Wampler 75, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away January 23rd, 2025, at her home after a brief battle with cancer. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, neighbor, and friend. Joyce was born April 7, 1949, in Royalton, Ohio to the late Walter Young and Elsie (Harmon) Young. Joyce was a 1967 graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School and went on to serve as a factory worker for many years until her retirement in 2011. Her strong work ethic and dedication were well-known to all who worked alongside her.

A devout Christian, Joyce attended Reese Baptist Church for many years and found great joy in her faith & community. She loved spending time studying the Bible, deeply cherishing her relationship with the Lord. Joyce had a love for the simple joys in life. Whether it was meticulously cleaning and working on cars, tending to her yard & various home projects, or in the kitchen making her "locally famous" peanut butter fudge.

Above all, Joyce's greatest love was for her family and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, Charles Wampler; and her sister Linda Carr. She is survived by her children, Trenton (Mary) Wampler & Amy (Craig) McDonnell; her grandchildren, Kylie Wampler, Evan McDonnell & Jenna McDonnell; her brother, Ike (Dianne) Wampler; her sister Patti Davis; and many other nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Beth from Fairhope Hospice Palliative Care; her lifetime best friends, Janet Reed & Barb Gobel; her friends Tony & Darlene Scott, Kenny (Amber) Helwig, and her niece, Heather (Rivers) Roark.

A service to honor Joyce's life will be held at Taylor Theller Funeral Home, Amanda, on Tuesday, January 28th at 11:00 am, with Pastor Mike O'Bryant officiating. Visitation will be held before the service on Monday, January 27th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Fairhope Hospice & Palliative Care as they continue to provide comfort and support to many other individuals and families during their time of need.
