John S. Queen, 78, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 9, 2015. He was born May 14, 1936 in Hocking County and was the son of the late Charles and Josie (Gue) Queen. John was a lifelong farmer, loved gardening, fishing and hunting and was a life time member of the North American Fishing Club.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon (Warfield) Queen; son, Michael Queen of Lancaster; grandson, Anthony Queen of Tarlton; sister, Alberta (George) Ellis of Lancaster and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton, Charles Jr., Norman and David Queen and a sister, Garnet Ayers.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Jay Neff officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made to the American Heart Association in Johnâs memory.
