John D. Adams

John D. Adams, age 87 of Stoutsville, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 22, 1937, in Stoutsville, OH to Ralph and Helen (Marshall) Adams. John was a lifetime member of the Heidelberg Church of Stoutsville and was a 30 year founding member of the Clearcreek Twp. Fire Department and EMS. He was a lifelong farmer and mechanic.

John was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Ashley Smith. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Gloria (Lynch) Adams; sister, Betty Peters; brother, Carl (Judy) Adams; sister-in-law, Sharon Crabbe; children, Janet (Bob) Zaayer, Joy (Brett) Smith, Jeff (Tammy) Adams, and Janine (Andy) Smith; grandchildren, Amy Thompson, Jenny (Rick) Stoecker, Jesse (Matt) Poston, Jake (Nicole) Adams, Alexandra (Alexander) Woods, Allison Smith, Mack (Ashley) Smith, and Levi (Ashlynne) Smith; great grandchildren, Evan and Grady Poston, Carter and Maggie Adams, Brooklynn and Makenzie Stoecker, Colt and Saylor Smith, and Benjamin, Lily, Abigail, and Evelynne Woods; two blessings yet to be born; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, with Bob Zaayer officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Stoutsville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FairHope Hospice or Clearcreek Township Fire and EMS.
