JoAnn T. Dilley, age 90 of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. She was born October 13, 1931, in Fairfield County, the daughter of the late Russell and Tressa (VanFossen) Bowers. She was a graduate of Amanda High School. JoAnn loved and cherished her family beyond measure and was a caring mother and grandmother. She worked many years with her sister, Geraldine Miller, painting and wallpapering. JoAnn was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She enjoyed time spent outdoors, gardening and had even mowed her lawn just two weeks ago.
She is survived by two sons, Rick (Stephanie) Dilley and Ron (Carrie) Dilley, both of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Ashley (Tim) McCunn of Rockbridge, Kyle (Gertrude) Dilley of Logan, Cassandra (Jodad) Rodriguez of Columbus and Carson Dilley of Johnson City, TN; one great grandson, Jack Dilley; brothers, Richard Bowers, of Amanda, Robert (Caroline) Bowers, of Somerset, and Paul Bowers, of Lancaster; sisters, Rosemary Hutchins, of Florida, Geraldine (John) Miller, of Amanda, Dorothy Mills, of Canal Winchester, Betty Jean (Gary) Hillyard, of Amanda, Judy (Tim) Payne, of Circleville, and Debbie (Leewood) Rhymer, of Circleville; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Dilley; brothers, Glenn and Jim Bowers; sisters, Ruby Creiglow and Virginia “Mazie” Kougher; sister-in-law and best friend, Betty Bowers.
In honoring her wishes, cremation has been arranged in the care of Taylor-Theller Funeral Home and no formal services will be observed.
JoAnn’s children would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to her nephew, Bud (Kendra) Bowers for their love and compassion in helping to care for JoAnn.
