James H. Eismon, 69, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born on July 13, 1944 in Lancaster to the late William and Emma (Spires) Eismon. He worked both as an ironworker with local 172, as well as a miner in the coal industry for many years. James was an entertainer, and he played in numerous local bands.
He is survived by his children, James (Mary) Eismon of Tennessee, Bonnie Mallory of Lancaster, and Tracy Eismon of West Virginia; numerous grandchildren; brother, William "Bill" (Lu) Eismon of Lancaster; sister, Jean (John Bernardini) Rinehart of West Virginia; and friend Donna Ervin of Lancaster. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Geneva Mae Eismon.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday June 16, 2014 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests donations to the American Lung Association in James memory.
