Harry L. King, age 71 of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 5, 1952, in Columbus, to the late Harry L. and Leona (Bechtle) King Jr. He retired from D.W. Lift Sales, Inc. with over 25 years of service. Harry was a member of the Moose Lodge in Lancaster. He loved hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. He enjoyed pulling tractors and grilling out for his family. Harry made the best cakes, and his family could choose whichever one they wanted for their birthday. Harry was always ready to help where there was a need.
He is survived by his first crush and last love, Dianne Queen; children, Scott (Mel) King, Andy (Mary) King, Tim King, Buddy (Alisha) King, and Justin King, all of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; Dianne's children, Danny Queen, Danette King, and Brian "Doug" (Jamie) Queen, Katrina (Manson Williams) Queen; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two grandcats, Fatty Cat and Luna; sister, Nancy (Jerry) Snyder; brother, Larry (Vicki) King; sister-in-law, Marie Luck; numerous nieces and nephews; his work family, D.W. Lift Sales and Wilson Turf.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda with Pastor Gerald Mershimer officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Harry's family would like to thank Drs. Castellon, Becker, Saha, and Scott Johnson, and their staff; Drs. Brian Cutright and Hutcheson D.D.S.; the entire staff of Fairfield Medical Center; Cancer Care and Infusion Center Staff; Derek Gorsuch (Hearing Aid Specialist); and FairHope Hospice.
