Gene Stevens

   Max “Gene” Stevens, age 72 of Amanda, left this life on June 30, 2022, at his home. He was born October 22, 1949, to Max E. “Shorty” and Betty (Francis) Stevens. Gene retired in 2012 after many years of working for Muffler Man in Lancaster, Ohio. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and collector.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching NASCAR and football. 

   He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Staten) Stevens; his children: Mark E. Stevens, Atlanta, GA; Michael (Sandra) Stevens, Amanda, OH; Veronica (Josh) Andrews, Amanda, OH; Dakota & Donavin Dillon-Stevens, Circleville, OH; Jordan Dillon-Stevens, Laurelville, OH; brother: Jeff (Vicky) Stevens, Royalton, OH; 8 grandchildren: Kiowa, Max, Tanoah, Jacob, Maggie, Liam, Carter, & Finley; many brothers and sisters in law & many nephews and nieces; lifelong friends: John & Bonnie Pupek. He was preceeded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. 

   Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home in Amanda, OH, with Ike Wampler officiating. Interment will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
