Frank W. McCafferty, 65, of Amanda, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, August 30, 2018. He was born December 7, 1952 in Lancaster and was the son of the late Kermit L. and Gertrude D. (Thomas) McCafferty. Frank was a 1971 graduate of Fairfield Union High School and was a delivery driver for 17 years for Nickles Bakery. Frank served many counties while delivering bread including Fairfield, Pickaway and Hocking counties. He was a member of Cedar Hill Calvary U.M. Church, president of Amanda Lions Club, member of Amanda Village Council and Teamsters Local #284. Frank was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, hunting mushrooms and whatever would lead him to the outdoors. He loved to tend to his garden and especially enjoyed being a neighbor to everyone around him.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 5 ½ years, Glenna Jean (Hedrick) McCafferty; his three children, Ty (Amy) McCafferty and Dusti (Michael) McDowell both of Bremen and Wes McCafferty of Amanda; six grandchildren, Hunter, Cole, Lillyan, Michael, Jordan and Sephira; seven brothers, Lloyd “Butch” (Bonnie) Minnard of West Rushville, Robert (Carol) Minnard of Lancaster, Kermit L. (Julie) McCafferty Jr. of Somerset, Phillip McCafferty and Julie of Rushville, Kirk (Lori) McCafferty of Somerset, Richard (Brenda) McCafferty of Lancaster and Jeff McCafferty of Pleasantville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his four legged companion, Pickles.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. Keeping with Frank’s wishes, a cremation will follow the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to Amanda Lions Club in Frank’s memory.
