Evelyn Walters Reed

Evelyn V. Walters Reed, age 90 of Lancaster, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Pickering House. She was born January 2, 1933, in Jackson, Ohio, to the late Lorain and Irene (Lindsey) Denney. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Church of Christ in Clearport. Evelyn served for 25 years on the Republican Central Committee and was honored for 45 years of service by the Fairfield County Board of Elections. She was a loving caregiver for several elderly families for over 20 years.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Lisa) Walters, of Lancaster, Linda (Roger) Barnes, of Lancaster, and Barbara Jean (Keith) Holland, of Amanda; 23 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; sister, Helen Heskett, of Lancaster; step sons, Craig Reed, of Rushville, Tim (Ginger) Reed, of Sugar Grove, and Andy Reed, of Sugar Grove; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband and the father of her children, Robert Walters Sr; second husband, Neil E. Reed; sons, Larry and Dean Walters; daughter in law, Merry Lee Walters; grandson, Michael Todhunter; brother, Donald Denney; and sister, Marjorie McCormick.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2023, at Amanda Township Cemetery with Pastor Chris Hildenbrand officiating.
