Dorotha A. Bussert, 92, of Amanda, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Pickering House. She was born February 9, 1924 in Fairfield County and was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary E. (DeLong) Frank. Dorotha was a life long member of Zion United Methodist Church and a graduate of Stoutsville High School. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, baking and making candy. She loved spending time with her family.
Dorotha is survived by her children, Connie (Richard Wardell) Hampshire of Kingston; Judy Shupe, James (Pamela) Bussert and Patty (Mark) Gabriel all of Amanda; grandchildren, Roger Hampshire, Mark A. (Teresa) Gabriel, Sheila Stanley, Haley (Travis) Teeters, Andy (Tosha) Shupe and Brian (Breanna Tolliver) Bussert; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Shupe of Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Jeri and Luana Frank and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bussert; son-in-law, Rex Shupe; granddaughter, Amy Schneider; great-great granddaughter, Isabella Armstrong; four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Dave Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
