Donald G. Fowler, age 70 of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Mount Carmel Medical Center. He was born February 5, 1944 and was the son of the late Glenn and Gladys (Raines) Fowler. Don was a U.S. Navy veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War. He retired from the New Somerset Bank and continued working after retirement in the insurance and bail bonds industry. Don was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, the Masonic Lodge in Baltimore--Lodge #475 F&AM for over 35 years, and a member of the Moose and Eagles. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, bowling, and was the voice of the Marching Falcons and Falcon Basketball for 25 years plus.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Etta (Vandagriff) Fowler; sons, Todd Fowler and Sean (Jane) Fowler all of Lancaster; sister, Linda (Jim) Mann of Gahanna; half-brother Myron and half-sister Nancy; and special friend Carl Shahan. He will be missed by his two loving pet companion dogs, Tasha and Sara.
Cremation has been handled with care by the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home to celebrate Donâs life.
