Dona M. McFarland

   Dona M. McFarland, age 74 of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born October 28, 1948, in Columbus, the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Heskett) Stoneman. She was a graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School, class of 1966 and then earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio University. She taught for 35 years at the Lancaster City Schools. Dona helped as an advisor for 4-H clubs, she rode horses, and she enjoyed travelling-especially to Hawaii and South Carolina with her grandson, Nick. She loved mushroom hunting, being in the woods, and watching her grandson play football at Amanda.

   She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dan McFarland; daughter, Laura McFarland, of Lancaster; grandson, Nick Wall, of Lancaster; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nina Smith; brother, Robert Stoneman Jr.

   Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda with Pastor Chris Hildenbrand officiating. Interment will follow at Harrison Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
