Don W. Griffith, 84, of Canal Winchester, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born December 31, 1929 in Fairfield County and was the son of the late Martin E. and Edith V. (Will) Griffith. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a mechanic for Continental Can and retired from Wasserstrom.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Richardson of Canal Winchester; granddaughter, Allison Richardson of Arlington, Texas; brothers: Martin Griffith of Columbus and Ned (Elizabeth) Griffith of Columbia Station, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ann Griffith; brothers: Milard and James; and his sisters: Dorothy Dale, Betty, Yetiva and Doris.
Cremation has been handled with care by the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. A memorial service celebrating Don's life will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. The ashes will be buried at Wesley Chapel Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made to the Ohio SPCA, Wounded Warrior Project or American Cancer Society in Don's memory
