Dean Hursey

January 12, 1938 — June 16, 2024

Dean A. Hursey, 86 of Circleville, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Wyngate Senior Living in Circleville. He was born January 12, 1938, in Delaware, Ohio, the son of Homer and Margaret (Cavey) Hursey. He was a US Navy veteran and was retired from Crane Plastics with many years of service. Dean was a member of the Masonic Lodge as well as a proud member of the NRA.

He is survived by his daughters, Dayna (Ed) Kelley and Bridget (David) Heister, both of Circleville; sons, Jeff (Karina) Hursey and Rob Hursey, both of Lancaster; grandchildren, Kelly (Shawn) Adkins, Corey and Michael (Dakotah) Hursey, Kris Ryan, and Josh Hursey; great granddaughters, Kenna Adkins, Rosalie, Sterling, and Chase Hursey; brother, Jerry (Marianne) Hursey, of Johnstown; sister-in-law, Mollie Hursey, of Delaware; and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends and neighbors on Pleasant Valley Road. He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, by whom he was raised, Perry and Sylvia Cavey; wife, Cheryl (Lovett); brother, Bob Hursey; son-in-law, Ron Caudill; brother-in-law, Wendell Lovett; sister-in-law, Lucy Lovett.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda. Cremation has been arranged in the care of the funeral home.
