Darrell E. Johnson

Darrell Eugene Johnson, Sr., of Laurelville, left his health struggles behind at the age of 66 on Thursday, October 20, 2016. He was born Sept. 16, 1950 in Circleville and was the son of the late Ray and Juanita (Grooms) Johnson.  He served his country as a bulk fuelman in the Marines from 1970-1974 and was formerly employed by T.D. Thompson and Riddles in Laurelville.                   Darrell is survived by his 3 children. Sherry (Jerry) Lyons of Firebrick, KY, Darrell Johnson, Jr. of Amanda and Nancy (Randy) George of Bluefield, WV; 2 stepsons, Ned and Josh Hampp both of Laurelville, OH. Also left to cherish his memory is his companion and dear friend, Linda Congrove and her family. He also leaves behind 2 brothers; Vernon (Mary) Johnson and Steven (Cora) Johnson; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Meredith Klinehoffer, Mary East, and Deborah Ray, and special companion Bernice Hampp.
     Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda.
Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Stoutsville.  Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until time of service on Tuesday.
