Christopher James Hubbard, 56, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at OSU Wexner Medical Center. He was born on March 10, 1962 in Lancaster and was the son of James and Sheila (Stover) Hubbard who survive. Chris was a 1980 graduate of Lancaster High School and married Diana Ebert on June 6, 1992. He was an Eagle Scout Troop 5 of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. He worked as an airline ground service agent at Port Columbus, an officer at Southeaster Correctional Facility and for the past 10 years as a Master Locksmith at the London Correctional Institute. He was a past member of Fairfield County Charity Newsies and the Elks Lodge #570. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking (especially for his family) and loved visiting the Florida gulf beaches.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Diana (Ebert) Hubbard; brother, Eric (Penny Wasem) Hubbard of Lancaster; sister, Tara Hubbard of Toledo; mother-in-law, JoAnn Ebert of Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Tammy Hedges and Christy (Nick) Fitz and many nieces, nephews and many friends including special friends, Larry and Ann Blosser. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Meeko.
Everyone remembers Chris as a kind, positive, grateful and generous person. He helped anyone who needed it and we will miss his very big heart.
Chris’ request was to be cremated and it will be handled with care by the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. No services will be observed.
The family extends special thanks to the OSU Wexner Medical Center for their compassionate care of Chris in his final days.
