Chester "Chet" Green, a resident of Heath, OH, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Nicole) Green, of Lancaster and Kevin (Stacy) Green, of Somerset; sister, Carol (Jerry) Hill, of Lancaster; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Shirley (Foutty) Green and sister, Terri Jo Hamm.
Chet was born September 28, 1961, in Lancaster, Ohio. He grew up in Fairfield County and graduated from Lancaster High School. He worked in the trucking industry most of his life, enjoyed the open road and meeting and visiting with fellow truck drivers. He was employed by Old Dominion Freight Lines.
At the heart of it, Chet was a no-nonsense, down to Earth, simple man who enjoyed traveling and had a great appreciation for all things in life. He was quiet in manner and thoughtful with his words. He always carried his Bible with him and could be found reading it often. He also loved being outdoors enjoying beautiful scenery (especially flower gardens), hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, video games and driving his RC helicopters.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Chet touched are invited for visitation at 12pm followed by a memorial service at 1pm on Saturday, August 27th at TAYLOR-THELLER FUNERAL HOME, 111 West Main Street, Amanda, OH.
