Cheryl E. Hursey, age 72 of Circleville, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Pickering House. She was born October 24, 1950, in Circleville, the daughter of the late James and Olive (Hartley) Lovett. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Dean; daughters, Dayna Kelley, of Circleville and Bridget (David) Heister, of Circleville; sons, Jeff (Karina) Hursey, of Lancaster and Rob Hursey, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Corey and Michael Hursey, of Iowa, Kelly Adkins, of Circleville, Kris Ryan, of North Carolina, and Josh Hursey, of Lancaster; great granddaughter, Kenna Adkins; brother-in-law, Jerry (Marianne) Hursey, of Johnstown; sister-in-law, Lucy Lovett, of Circleville; special sister, caregiver, and B.F.F., Mollie Hursey, of Delaware; and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wendell Lovett, of Stoutsville and Bob Hursey, of Johnstown.
Cheryl was a graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School, class of 1968. She retired from Ralston Foods in Lancaster with over 30 years of service. Cheryl loved traveling and gambling with her husband. She loved shopping, especially with her lifelong friend, Renee Lones. Later in life, she enjoyed line dancing with Deb Schooley and Diane Rhymer.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda. Cremation has been arranged in the care of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to FairHope Hospice 282 Sells Road Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
