Cate Kimple

Catie (Cathy) Louise Chandler Kimple of Carroll, Ohio, age 56, passed away on March 24th of 2022. Catie is preceded by her parents Larry and Doris Chandler and her son LCpl James F Kimple of the USMC.

She is survived by her husband John D Kimple of 33 years; her sons, Jovid C. Kimple and Parker J. Kimple; her sisters, Ellen Moore, Diane Chandler, and Janet Stimmell; her brother, Larry E Chandler; her grandchildren, Dominic, Drake, and Maleah; and many loved nieces and nephews.

In her early years Catie was a member of the local Carroll Girl Scout Troop, active in the Carroll Community Old Timers, the Bloom-Carroll Marching Band, played basketball, and sang in the school choir. Catie graduated with the class of 1984.

After high school Catie attended Hocking Technical College where she studied Secretarial Science and Hospitality, and met her husband, John.

In 2001 Catie became an employee at Bloom-Carroll Local School District where she became not only a school bus driver and a recess monitor, but more importantly she became a friend to the staff and the children, whom she cared for dearly. In late 2021 Catie also began working at 2 the Maxx Hair & Nail Salon in Lancaster, Ohio where she made many close connections in such a short period of time.

Her hobbies included bowling, kayaking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, welcoming home Honor Flights for our veterans, and spending time with her beloved friends while camping at Fairfield Fish and Game. After her son James' passing, Catie also began spending time riding motorcycles with the USMC Leathernecks both for benefit rides as well as escorting our fallen heroes to their final resting place.

Catie is most remembered for her ability to make friends no matter where she went and brightening the lives of all those around her by spreading love, happiness, and most importantly her sense of humor. She believed in always doing the right thing no matter the cost and to never ask for praise, whether it was lending a shoulder to those in need or volunteering her time as a firefighter and EMT for the Greenfield Township Fire Dept. She will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have had the chance to get to know her in this wonderful thing called life.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29th from 5 to 8pm at the Taylor-Theller Funeral Home in Amanda where the funeral will be held Wednesday March 30th at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Carroll Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home's Facebook page for those who are unable to attend.
