Catherine A. "Kitty" Young

Catherine A. “Kitty” Young, 76, of Amanda, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at her residence.  She was born September 15, 1938 in Lancaster and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Freida (Miller) Hartman.  Kitty was a 1956 graduate of Berne Union High School, bowled for many years, was a hairdresser in Lancaster for many years and was a member of Olivedale Senior Center.  She enjoyed camping and boating on the Ohio river and loved her family very much.
Kitty is survived by her husband of 53 years, Loyd M. Young; children, Sheryl (Dave) Tatman of Spring Hill, Florida, Michael (Laura) Young of Williamstown, West Virginia and Mark (Marsha) Young of Lancaster; grandchildren, Kaylee Tatman, Kraig (Rebecca) Tatman, Brittany, Ashley, Carlie and Trevor Young; one great grandson, Kolton Tatman and numerous friends that will miss her.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Charles Hartman and an infant sister.
A cremation has been handled with care and the family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda.  A private grave side service will be held at a later date.
The family would like any contributions to be made to either the Clearcreek Twp. or Amanda Twp. EMS in Kitty’s memory.
