Carol S. Minnard, age 72 of Lancaster passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Pickering House in Lancaster. She was born April 10, 1949 in Lancaster, the daughter of Homer Lee “Barney” and Bette Irene (Harmon) Bigham. Carol was an easy person to love. She had an easy-going personality; Carol was very loving, most gentle and kind, compassionate, and forgave easily no matter the trespass as easily as she breathed. She never swore or lost her temper and was content with the basic necessities of life. She had a high moral standard for herself but didn’t fault anyone who didn’t. Carol liked to watch scary movies, read books, and listen to music; she also loved a good thrift store find, chocolate, playing bingo, babies, and her family. Carol was a former employee of Anchor Hocking West and was a former secretary for Eric Hahn Associates. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School and Southeastern Business College of Lancaster where she was on the Dean’s List. Carol lived with her husband at their Clearcreek residence for 45 years.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert Minnard Sr., of Lancaster; children, DeEtta (Eugene) Shaffer, of Sevierville, TN, Robert (Janice) Minnard Jr., of Lancaster, and Nathan (Margaret) Minnard, also of Lancaster; grandchildren, Damon and Cascey Shaffer, Jenifer Todd, Amanda Lee, and Bradley, Lydia, Nic, Noah, and Kaylee Minnard; great grandchildren, Hayden, Morgan, Delaney, and Bindi Shaffer, Sophia and Samuel Lee, Vincent Todd, and Grace Wolfe; sisters, Charlotte Rizer, of Bremen, Rita Osborn, of Lancaster, Penny Blosser, of Lancaster, and Dale (Jeff) Lutz, of Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry, “Hank” Henry Lee, Daniel Paul, and Terry Allan Bigham; sisters, Donna Lou Bigham and Debbra Diaz.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda with Chaplain Kermit Welty officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. The memorial service may also be viewed live at the funeral home’s Facebook page. In accordance with State mandates, COVID Protocols including facial coverings and social distancing will be followed.
