Bonnie Azbell

Bonnie Azbell, age 96, of Fairfield County, passed away on Saturday September 30, 2023, in her home. She was born March 4, 1927, the daughter of the late James and Judy (Skaggs) McKenzie. She loved attending church where she enjoyed singing. She had a passion for cooking and was known for her biscuits and gravy, fried potatoes, and fried chicken.

She is survived by her children, Billy (Connie) Smith of Waverly and Chester (Claire) Smith of Lancaster; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Van Smith; husband, Lloyd Azbell; and children, James Smith, Ollie Smith, and Patsy Smyers; 9 brothers; and her sister.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Ron Frank officiating. Interment will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
