Betty McJunkin

Betty K. McJunkin, age 95 of Amanda, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Circleville Post Acute. She was born June 28, 1928, in Pike County, the daughter of the late Dewey and Grace (Van Dyke) Chancey. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School. She was a member of Tarlton United Methodist Church. Betty was a founding member and certified EMT with Saltcreek Twp./Tarlton EMS. She loved fishing and traveling and was proud of her trips to Venice and Hawaii. Betty served as 4-H Advisor, and volunteered with the PTO and Band Boosters. She loved to bowl, with a 16-pound ball.

She is survived by her children, Sandra (Carl) Kretzer of Ellenton, Florida, Linda Daubenmire of Lancaster, Mark (Debbie) McJunkin of Kingston, and Ray Gene (Pam) McJunkin of Laurelville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; sister, Naomi (Charles) Emnett, of Lucasville; brother, Phillip Chancey, of Tennessee; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; daughter, Lana McJunkin; sisters, Louise Sherrick and Joan Grumme.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda, with Ray Gene McJunkin officiating. Interment will follow at Tarlton Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to the Saltcreek Township/Tarlton EMS.
